Good afternoon elizabeth

Craig
Hi Craig
I remember Mr Drake coming to Wainwrights, but it was right at the end of my days of working there, the late 60s, I think, so I don’t have many memories of him, unfortunately. He also owned Snows, didn’t he? The coffee bar opposite the Bus Station in Chelmsford. Certainly Noelle who worked in Wainwrights, worked in Snows for a while. Then after one side of Tindal Street was pulled down, with all the pubs and Wainwrights disappearing in a cloud of dust, he owned a cafe on the other side I think. I never knew his name was Fred!
All the best, Elizabeth
